Winter plant display

The usual Plants from Around the World theme is being given an Olympics twist this year, with plenty of random facts and useless information that just might come in useful one day. If you find yourself at a loose end, come along and have a browse!

Plants for Purposes ...

All you people who reckon there's nothing that will grow in your garden ... we reckon there is!

Due to the extreme and devastating winds this summer, we've given up trying to create fancy display beds. We haven't yet found anything that's tornado proof!

At the end of the covered pergola you will find one bench arranged like a seaside garden, to illustrate what plants will grow down by the beach. But for more information on plants for shade, chalk, or clay ... plants to attract bees and butterflies ... or weird and wonderful things to eat ... check out our Plants for Purposes page on this website.

Winter

It's the time of year for painting and maintenance, ready for the spring re-stock. Signs will be refreshed, information labels will be reprinted. The evergreen shrubs are inside the greenhouse. The shrub field may look barren and forlorn, but we still have almost the complete range of shrubs available. Please don't hesitate to ask if you don't find what you're looking for!

The Shrub beds

The Shrub beds are in A-Z order. Hedging plants are along the back, near the Leylandii hedge. This includes some of the larger shrubs, which don't fit on the A-Z area ... things like Eleagnus, Griselinia, Pyracantha and Laurel.
